Der Popsänger ('Shame') scheint sich trotz Wohnsitz in Los Angeles nach seiner britischen Heimat zu sehnen und will sich Berichten zufolge deshalb ein Haus im Tudorstil in Turnbridge Wells im Südosten Englands kaufen.
Das Anwesen, das sich Brenchley Manor nennt und aus dem 15. Jahrhundert stammt, soll den Briten derart bezaubert haben, dass er die Anwohner bereits mit Fragen über die Gegend gelöchert hat. Gemeinsam mit einem Freund soll er nach einem zweiten Besuch des Grundstücks den örtlichen Pub aufgesucht und sich dort kundig gemacht haben.
Ein Beobachter verrät 'The Sun': "Er fragte die Kellnerin über die Gegend aus. Das hat sich im ganzen Dorf herumgesprochen."
Schon im letzten Jahr zog Williams nach England zurück, nachdem er Los Angeles zu seiner Wahlheimat gemacht hatte. Nur acht Monate später kehre er an die sonnige Westküste Amerikas zurück, da ihm und seiner damaligen Freundin Ayda Field, die er inzwischen geehelicht hat, das kalte und regnerische Wetter zuwider war.
Damals erklärte der 36-Jährige: "Ayda wollte schon immer einen Wechsel der Jahreszeiten - und es ist Winter und glorreich. Der Garten ist was ganz besonderes, wie ein Winterwunderland und man will es sich einfach bequem machen." Im Laufe des Jahres ändere sich zu seinem Leidwesen aber nicht viel auf der britischen Insel. "Dann kommt der Sommer und das Wetter ändert sich nicht großartig. Dann denkt man: 'Hmm, LA war schön.' Jeden Tag, den man dort aufwacht, ist man in der Sonne. Dein Körper fühlt sich anders an, dein Geist auch - deshalb gehen wir zurück", kündigte er seine Rückkehr in die Staaten an.
